Our Story

Healing and Growth for Our Heroes

The seeds of the Urban Garden of Eden Charities were planted with a simple question: How can we honor and support the heroes who once protected us? Our answer was to nurture both body and spirit by creating a space where veterans can heal, grow, and rebuild their lives. Since our founding, we have transformed underutilized land into vibrant urban gardens, where the act of growing food is as restorative as the meals it provides.

At the Urban Garden of Eden Charities, our mission is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves dignity, nourishment, and a second chance at life. For the veterans who have given so much in service to our nation, we aim to provide more than just a meal—we offer hope, healing, and a pathway to renewed purpose.

A Sanctuary for Veterans in Need

“The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members.”
Mahatma Gandhi

With this guiding principle, we are dedicated to transforming lives through the power of community, nature, and compassion. By creating urban gardens that serve as both sanctuaries and training grounds, we empower veterans to reclaim their independence and reconnect with the earth.

Did you know? According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), over 33,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. Many struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and limited access to basic resources. At the Urban Garden of Eden Charities, we believe that no veteran should face these challenges alone.
